Should I choose a boiler or a heat pump?
It depends on your property's heat demand, insulation, available space, existing heating and energy supply. Heat pumps can be an efficient option when correctly designed, but savings are not the same for every home. We install boilers and ground and air source heat pumps, so talk to us about the options before deciding.
Why is my radiator cold at the top or bottom?
A radiator cold at the top can indicate trapped air. A radiator cold at the bottom but hot at the top can indicate sludge or restricted circulation, although temperature differences alone do not confirm the cause. If your radiator is only warm at the top or keeps developing cold patches, arrange an assessment rather than repeatedly adjusting the system.
How do I top up boiler pressure?
The procedure depends on the exact boiler and filling arrangement. Whether you need a Worcester boiler pressure top up or a Vaillant boiler pressure top up, follow the user manual for your specific model and its recommended pressure. Never remove the boiler casing or guess which valves to open. If pressure keeps dropping, or you are unsure, stop and ask our team for advice.
What should I do if a radiator is leaking from the top?
Switch off the heating and let the radiator cool. Protect the area from drips where it is safe to do so, and keep water away from electrical equipment. Do not remove the bleed valve or try to seal a hot, pressurised radiator. Contact a plumbing professional to identify the leak and arrange a suitable repair.

Do not assume that a heat pump installation will provide cooling; suitability and any cooling requirements need to be confirmed separately with the team.
